Miami QB Cam Ward going to the Tennessee Titans at #1 looks increasingly likely, and there's a growing expectation that the Cleveland Browns will select Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter at #2 overall.
The betting lines for Carter at #2 shifted so strongly that I couldn't ignore them. The concept is fascinating: pairing an elite EDGE in Myles Garrett and his recent mammoth contract extension with a blue-chip EDGE prospect on a rookie deal in Carter.
At #3 overall, the New York Giants signing 36-year-old QB Russell Wilson to a one-year contract should have zero bearing on the possibility of drafting a QB, likely Colorado's Shedeur Sanders.
Yet it's interesting that the betting line has moved to Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter being the favorite for the Giants at #3 as of this writing.
In the event that both Carter and Hunter are gone at #4 and there's not a viable trade offer to move back, the expectation is that the New England Patriots would likely draft an offensive lineman.
The hard fade I'd felt from the Jacksonville Jaguars about Michigan DT Mason Graham has dissipated, particularly since the management change there back in January.
As for the strong indicators that Penn State TE Tyler Warren would be a Top 10 pick, there is reportedly considerable interest for Warren from the New York Jets at #7.
I'll have a newly-revised mock draft going up on the front page early tomorrow morning EDT.
