Not much changed in my latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft update, but as promised earlier it reflects a higher projection for Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr., now mocked to the Tampa Bay Bucs at #19.
Indicators continue to suggest that two running backs (Boise State's Ashton Jeanty and North Carolina's Omarion Hampton) and two tight ends (Penn State's Tyler Warren and Michigan's Colston Loveland) could realistically be drafted before any wide receiver besides Colorado's Travis Hunter, who really belongs in his own category as a legit unique dual threat at cornerback and wide receiver.
Of the top receivers, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan and Texas' Matthew Golden tend to be the top two projected to go.
McMillan has been the top WR in many mock drafts through the process, but Golden ran a 4.29 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and is seen by some evaluators as the more well-rounded prospect between the two.
The growing talk of Missouri OT Armand Membou going to the New York Jets at #7 is tough to ignore.
If the New England Patriots select LSU OT Will Campbell at #4 and the Jets draft Membou at #7, that clearly shifts the board for teams like the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers. Both the Bears and the 49ers are believed to be strongly considering going with a offensive tackle in round one.
The pre-draft grind for NFL team management is a whirlwind of travel, meetings, opinions, and strategy. The further you get from the top of the draft board, the more uncertain any one pick becomes, particularly at this point in the process.
We're three weeks out from night one. Buckle up.
